The pandemic related to coronavirus has affected millions of people around the world. The virus has begun from china and ends up getting scattered in almost every part of the world. This virus has taken millions of lives already and still the chances of it getting finished are far from the possibility. The different scientists around the world have been working to find out the cure and trying to find the drug of this virus but they have not been able to find a solid cure for this virus.
However, the good news is that a collaborative study has been conducted by the Monash University that shows that there is already a proven drug available around the globe in the form of an anti-parasitic drug that has the potential of killing the virus in just 48 hours. This research tells that a single dose of the anti-parasitic drug, called Ivermectin, could halt or discontinue the SARS-CoV-2 virus emerging in the human body.
Generally, the ivermectin is an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug that has the ability to promote more antiviral activity like SARS-CoV-2. This drug has the ability to show great resistance against the huge variety of viruses. Ivermectin was first revealed in 1970 and had quickly developed an indispensable drug for a massive quantity of parasitic contaminations, such as head lice, etc.“Ivermectin is very widely used and seen as a safe drug. We need to figure out now whether the dosage you can use in humans will be effective — that’s the next step,” Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute’s Dr. Kylie Wagstaff said.
To assess how the ivermectin reacts against the coronavirus, the scientists contaminated some cells with the COVID 19 viruses. Later they exposed these infected cells to the drug ivermectin. Next, they established that simply a solitary dose of Ivermectin had effectively destroyed the virus. This experiment demonstrated that there was a momentous decrease in the virus in just 24 hours. In addition, the comprehensive eradication of the virus was in just 48 hours. Due to this discovery, the new hope has emerged in the world regarding the cure of the corona virus and now if some serious work is followed up related to this drug, we never know that it would become an instrumental tool in removing the coronavirus.
